Hi! I’m Amy and I am a mom of two active boys and wife of a football coach. We currently live in Champaign, IL but have had several places in the last 10 years we have called home. I am an ACE, American Council on Exercise, certified Personal Trainer and a certified Nutrition Coach through Precision Nutrition.
I grew up in Oregon and was a multi-sport athlete for most of my childhood; playing both volleyball and softball. I had the opportunity to play Division I softball for the University of New Mexico. It was an opportunity I am so grateful for and taught me so many invaluable life skills and lessons that have translated into adulthood. Working hard through adversity, never giving up, being challenged by others who are better than you, failing, overcoming physical and mental hurdles, and working together with a team, has shaped a large part of who I am today. These lessons have made a huge impact on how I have approached my career in fitness.
I started working in fitness as a spin instructor. It allowed me to get my foot in the door at LA Fitness and I ran with it. Teaching bootcamp, circuit type classes came next and I always found myself gaining a large following of clients from my challenging classes and strong, tough, “you need to work harder” demeanor. After getting married and starting to move around, I found my career path would be well suited to the ever changing life of a football family - fitness/gyms/training - it was really everywhere! I have been able to work and gain experience in so many different fitness settings - large, upscale gyms - OrangeTheory - a boutique spin studio - smaller, athletic training facilities - corporate fitness - I was even a health and fitness coordinator at a sawmill. All of these experiences have allowed me to gain a great perspective on working with a variety of people of all different ages and ability levels.
In having children, my own pursuit of fitness and health has evolved. For many years I thought the more cardio, the better! The more classes I can teach in a day, the better! If I wasn’t dripping sweat and exhausted after every workout, I wasn’t doing it right. My mindset really started to change after being faced with having to lose the 50 lbs I gained with both of my boys.
Educating myself on proper recovery, intelligently fueling my body for workouts, not always killing myself in the gym, beginning to consistently strength train, taking rest days, not always trying to eat the very least or the lowest number of calories…. once I started to base my mindset around these ideas, I really began to see change take place.
I am here now to use my past experiences and the knowledge I have gained in becoming a stronger, less exhausted, better fueled, version of myself, to support and guide you to achieving long lasting goals.
I feel like I am in the best shape of my life and the most happy I have ever been doing it. Let me help you build lifelong sustainable habits and allow you to live your best life possible!
